Srinagar, Nov 24: Twelve members of a family from Nowgam in Handwara were hospitalised on Sunday night after they reportedly fell unconscious due to suspected food poisoning.
According to officials, the family members lost consciousness during the night and were immediately shifted to the nearest health facility, NTPHC.
After preliminary treatment, all 12 individuals were referred to GMC Handwara for specialised medical care.
Hospital authorities at GMC Handwara confirmed that all the affected persons are stable and are receiving the necessary treatment.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry to determine the source of the suspected food contamination.
