Jammu, Jan 11: Jammu & Kashmir delivered an outstanding performance at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026, with its athletes securing two gold, two silver and one bronze medal across various beach disciplines. Adding to the historic achievement, the J&K contingent, as per J&K Sports Council statement, was crowned Overall Men’s Champions in Pencak Silat, marking a significant milestone as one of the finest performances by a northern state in coastal combat sports.
Congratulating the athletes, Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, J&K, lauded the performers for making the region proud.
He said that such achievements are a testament to the discipline, hard work and positive energy of J&K’s youth, adding that sports play a vital role in promoting health, harmony and peace across Jammu & Kashmir.
