Srinagar, Jan 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday reconstituted a search committee for recommending panels for the appointment of Chairperson JKBOSE and Director SCERT.
The order in this regard has been issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) in supersession of Government Order No 163-JK GAD of 2025 dated January 30, 2025.
The Search Committee reconstituted for recommending panels of appointment of chairperson JKBOSE and Director SCERT would be headed by the Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, as its Chairman, while Administrative Secretaries of Agriculture Production Department, GAD, Higher Education Department, and School Education Department would be its members.
The other members of the committee include the Vice Chancellors of the University of Kashmir and the University of Jammu.
“The Search Committee will be serviced by the School Education Department and submit its recommendations in a time-bound manner,” the GAD order reads.
This is the second search committee constituted in one year for recommending a panel of candidates for these two positions.
The post of Chairman JKBOSE is lying vacant since the expiry of the two-year tenure of the former chairman JKBOSE in 2025, who was also holding an additional charge of Director SCERT.
Meanwhile, in a separate order, the government ordered that the Secretary JKBOSE Ghulam Hassan Sheikh shall discharge his duties as Chairman JKBOSE as an interim arrangement.
The order has been issued by the Commissioner Secretary GAD in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 12 of the J&K Board of School Education Act, 1975 (Act No XXVIII of 1975).
“The government hereby orders that Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Secretary JKBOSE, shall discharge the functions of chairman JKBOSE, in addition to his own duties, as an interim arrangement, till further orders,” reads an order issued by GAD.
In another order, the Director School Education, Jammu, has been given additional charge of the post of Director SCERT.
“In the interest of the administration, it is hereby ordered that Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, DSEJ, shall hold the charge of the post of Director JKSCERT, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” the GAD order reads.
