Senior Citizens Council welcomes lifetime achievement award to Muhammad Shafi Pandit

Srinagar, Jan 26: AhataWaqar (Senior Citizens Council) Chanapora has welcomed the government’s decision to confer the Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumously)on Late Mohammad ShafiPandit (Retired IAS) on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day.

In a press statement, the Chairman of the AhataWaqar, Abdul Gani Parray, along with Media Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Shah (Mehram), secretary Er Khazir Mohd Trag ,Organiser, Qazi Ab Rashid , Treasurer Javed Ahmad Bieg described the honour as a fitting tribute to one of  Kashmir’s most distinguished civil servants and role models.

Mohammad Shafi Pandit, the first Muslim IAS officer from Kashmir, passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 80.
