Kisthwar, Mar 16: Two persons were killed after a landslide struck a project vehicle at an HRT project site in the Dangdaro area of Kishtwar district on Monday, officials said.
Officials said that the landslide occurred at the project site in Dangdaro, trapping several persons under debris. Rescue teams launched an operation soon after the incident.
According to the latest update received from the Red Cross Society Kishtwar unit, two bodies have been recovered from the debris so far. The deceased have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmed, a resident of Doda, and Nishat Ahmed, a resident of Palmar in Kishtwar district.
They said that some persons are still feared missing after the landslide hit the project vehicle.
Rescue and search operations are currently underway at the site, with teams continuing efforts to locate any other possible victims.
