During the meeting with Director SKIMS, Prof Mohd Ashraf Ganie, CEC thanked him for the appointment of a dedicated Nodal Officer for patients referred from Kargil, a step that has been widely appreciated by the people of the region and is seen as a meaningful initiative toward improving the healthcare experience of Kargil patients seeking treatment at SKIMS. The CEC highlighted the key challenges faced by patients travelling from Kargil for medical treatment, particularly the hardship caused by long waiting periods.

He requested the introduction of an online registration system that would allow patients to be pre-registered, ensuring they are not subjected to unnecessary delays and can receive timely and hassle-free treatment.

CEC Dr Akhoon also made a special request for the organisation of a Super Speciality Medical Camp at Kargil, which would bring expert healthcare directly to the people of the district, allowing residents from across Kargil to benefit from specialised medical services without the need for a long and difficult journey to Kashmir.
