Rajouri, April 6: The Mughal Road remained operational for vehicular movement on Monday, providing much-needed relief to commuters amid the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
According to officials, traffic was allowed from both sides within the notified cut-off timing of 11 am to 3 pm and hundreds of vehicles plied on the road during the permitted hours, particularly as commuters sought alternative routes due to the disruption on the national highway.
The reopening of the road facilitated the movement of passenger and light motor vehicles, helping ease the pressure on stranded traffic and ensuring connectivity between the twin regions.
Traffic Police authorities advised commuters to strictly adhere to the notified timing schedule and follow safety guidelines while travelling on the route, which remains vulnerable to weather-related disruptions.
Officials said that the situation was being closely monitored, and any changes in traffic movement would be communicated accordingly.
