Nagrota, Apr 5: MLA NagrotaDevyaniRana launched the second edition of a Youth Training and Employment Drive aimed at preparing local youth for careers in the hospitality sector.
The programme began at TRT Community Hall, Nagrota, and is being organised in collaboration with ARC Hospitality as part of ongoing efforts to enhance skill development and employment opportunities in the constituency.
Around 100 candidates aged between 18 and 27 participated in the inaugural session. Shortlisted applicants will undergo a 45-day training programme, offered free of cost, covering hospitality skills, personality development, communication, and professional readiness. Upon completion, participants will be assisted with placement opportunities in reputed hotels within Jammu & Kashmir and across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Ranaemphasised the importance of aligning youth aspirations with industry requirements, urging participants to invest in skill development to remain competitive in the evolving job market. She highlighted that the hospitality sector offers significant career potential with opportunities for growth and exposure.
“Success today depends on one’s willingness to learn and adapt,” she said, encouraging youth to utilise such platforms to build strong professional careers.
Reaffirming her focus on youth empowerment, Rana stressed the need for sustained initiatives that bridge the gap between education and employability. She also appreciated the role of ARC Hospitality in creating structured training avenues and acknowledged the support of DrArvindKarwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrant), along with local community leaders for mobilising participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chitwan Khorana, CEO of ARC Hospitality, highlighted the organisation’s efforts to address skill gaps in the hospitality industry and prepare candidates for real-world employment.
“The hospitality sector is expanding rapidly, with increasing demand for trained professionals. Through targeted training and mentorship, we aim to enable youth to access stable and rewarding careers,” she said.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, where industry experts briefed participants on career pathways, workplace expectations, and the importance of discipline and professionalism in the hospitality sector.
