Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: J&K Sports Council to conduct open selection trials

Jammu, Jan 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has announced the conduct of Phase-I Open Selection Trials to identify the J&K contingent in different sports disciplines for participation in the upcoming Khelo India Tribal Games-2026, scheduled to be held at Chhattisgarh.

The trials, as per an official statement issued on Wednesday, are being organised for domicile athletes of Jammu & Kashmir belonging to the Tribal Community in the disciplines of athletics, wrestling, weightlifting, hockey and football. Eligible players have been advised to report at the designated venues as per the schedule with all requisite documents.

It is being termed as a huge opportunity for aspiring athletes from tribal communities to showcase their talent and earn the chance to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the national level while competing alongside the best athletes from across the country.

Interested athletes must produce their domicile certificate, tribal community certificate and Aadhaar card at the time of trials.
