Jammu, Mar 5: Rajouri district is set to host a series of athletics, sports and fitness events under the nationwide ASMITA League to mark International Women’s Day, even as Kishtwar is witnessing thrilling cricket matches in the inter-block district level tournament under the “League of Classics.”
Addressing media persons, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma said the district administration is organising multiple sports activities under the Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action (ASMITA) League to encourage greater participation of women and girls in sports.
International Women’s Day will be observed on March 8.
He said that competitions including badminton, tug of war and several fun activities will be held at the Sports Stadium, while 100 metre and 200 metre races will take place at the District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri and the 400 metre race at ALG Rajouri.
