Jammu, Apr 01: Jammu Police on Wednesday refuted the news reports stating the presence of three terrorists at Palm Island Mall in Jammu as “baseless”. They advised general public not to pay heed to rumours and requested media houses to behave responsibility as unverified news reports can lead to unnecessary panic.
“Some social media accounts /portals are reporting regarding presence of 03 terrorists at Palm Island Mall. These reports are baseless as the Police Parties are on the spot and nothing suspicious found after verification.
General public advised not to pay heed to rumours and media houses requested to avoid spreading rumours and behave responsibily as such unverifiable news items lead to unnecessary panic.
Necessary legal action will be initiated against social media accounts/portals for such irresponsible reporting,” Jammu Police in a statement said.
