RRU, CDSL conduct financial awareness, cyber resilience training for 185 Bn in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 18: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat in collaboration with Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), conducted a one-day training programme on financial awareness and cyber resilience for personnel of the 185 Battalion at the Recruit Training Centre (RTC) in Srinagar.

Organised under the CDSL-RRU initiative, the programme focused on Financial Planning, Financial Fraud, and Cyber Fraud Prevention and Mitigation and aimed at strengthening financial literacy and cyber safety awareness among security personnel. The training was led by Brigadier Rohit Nautiyal, DIG and Principal, RTC Srinagar.

Following the introductory remarks, Anshu Singh, Assistant Professor at Rashtriya Raksha University, outlined the vision and mission of the university and delivered specialised sessions aligned with the project’s objectives.

The training equipped participants with practical tools and strategies to manage personal finances effectively and protect themselves against evolving financial and cyber threats.

Deputy Commandants Dolfe Jacob and Pawan Kumar briefed participants on the structure and objectives of the programme, noting that 480 registered recruits would receive certification from RRU under the initiative.

Experts also highlighted the nationwide mandate of the CDSL–RRU project and its role in promoting financial literacy across the country.

The programme witnessed strong participation, with around 600 personnel, including officers and staff, attending the sessions in two batches.

Participants appreciated the relevance and clarity of the training, which addressed common financial and cyber frauds, preventive measures and mitigation strategies.

The successful conduct of the programme at RTC Srinagar marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the CDSL-RRU project to enhance financial awareness and cyber resilience nationwide.

It also reflects the growing collaboration between academic institutions and security forces to address emerging challenges in financial security and digital safety.
