Kulgam, Mar 20: The Police Martyrs Volleyball Tournament and T10 cricket tournament for specially abled persons, organised by Kulgam Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26, concluded at the Mini Sports Stadium, Kulgam. The events witnessed active participation from youth and sports enthusiasts, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement.
The final matches, as per a statement issued on Friday were attended by Addl. SP Kulgam Mohd Aftab Awan (JKPS), DySP DAR Kulgam Mohd Ayub Rather, other police officers, local elders, and a large gathering of spectators.
Held in memory of the brave Police Martyrs, the tournaments featured multiple teams from different areas showcasing remarkable talent, discipline, and competitive spirit.
Speaking on the occasion, Addl. SP Kulgam appreciated the enthusiasm of youth and specially abled participants, highlighting the role of sports in promoting healthy lifestyles, discipline, and unity. He emphasised that such events aim to strengthen the bond between the police and the community while providing constructive platforms for youth engagement.
In the volleyball tournament, Badroo Sports emerged as winners while Katrasoo Sports were runners-up. In the T10 cricket tournament, Kulgam 11 defeated Pulwama 11. Winners and runners-up were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies, and appreciation certificates by Kulgam Police.
Kulgam Police reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar sporting and community initiatives in the future, honouring the sacrifices of Police Martyrs and encouraging positive youth participation.
