Star Performances by Zeeshan, Kamran Highlight YSS UT-Level Cricket Clash

 The ongoing UT Level Cricket Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, witnessed another thrilling day packed with exceptional performances, close contests, and remarkable all-round displays from young cricketers across Jammu & Kashmir.

In the first encounter between Ramban and Kishtwar, Ramban, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, posted a competitive total of 144 runs. Haris Mir top-scored with a blistering 46 off just 29 deliveries, while Mohd Younus shone with the ball, claiming four wickets in his four-over spell.

In reply, Kishtwar fell short by 35 runs despite a fighting knock of 38 runs from Umaid. Ramban’s Haris Mir completed a fine all-round performance, also picking up three wickets to guide his team to victory.

In another exciting fixture between Srinagar and Kupwara, Srinagar managed 142 runs, with Basik Shakeel contributing a quickfire 35 off 19 balls. For Kupwara, Najmu Saqib impressed with the ball, taking three crucial wickets.

Chasing the target, Kupwara displayed solid batting as Bazil Sultan led from the front with a superb 58 off 35 balls, supported by Ovais Sheikh’s explosive 21 off just 8 deliveries. Bazil’s all-round brilliance continued as he also took two wickets, helping Kupwara clinch victory by five wickets.

In the match between Pulwama and Budgam, Pulwama posted 109 runs, with Wajahat contributing a brisk 21 off 12 balls. From Budgam, Sirhan picked up two wickets.  Chasing the target, Budgam registered a comfortable five-wicket win, powered by Saqib Abass (35 off 24) and Ibrahim (21 off 25), who guided their team home with confidence.

Meanwhile, in the clash between Anantnag and Poonch, Poonch won the toss and elected to bowl first. Anantnag set a challenging total of 138 runs, thanks to a brilliant innings from Zeeshan (58 off 33) and Kamran (46 off 34). For Poonch, Nadeem claimed two wickets.

While defending the total, Anantnag’s bowlers dominated the innings, dismissing Poonch for a low score to secure a massive 66-run victory. Zeeshan continued his outstanding form with the ball, taking two wickets, while Sartaj also added two scalps. Only Pranar and Nadeem managed to reach double figures for Poonch.

In another contest between Kathua and Baramulla, Kathua, after winning the toss and opting to bat, could manage only 78 runs, with Chatarpati being the top scorer with 26 runs. For Baramulla, Samit delivered a superb spell, taking three wickets.In response, Baramulla chased down the target comfortably, winning by seven wickets, driven by fine batting from Zakir Shafi (28 off 17) and Samit (22 off 18) to seal the victory.

The tournament continues to showcase emerging cricketing talent across the Union Territory, reflecting the enthusiasm, spirit, and sportsmanship among the young players representing their respective districts.
