Srinagar, Jan 21: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Conference (JKPC) leader Imran Reza Ansari on Wednesday took an indirect jibe at chief minister Omar Abdullah for his promises made with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir during election campaign in 2024, saying those youth who voted for change and counted their future in ‘one lakh jobs’ in J&K are now getting a crash course in reality. He expressed disillusionment over current job and seat allocation mechanism in Jammu and Kashmir, saying when youth of the world is debating on artificial intelligence and future economies, the youth of J&K fights for answer sheets, seat allocation and basic justice system.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) Ansari said: “The same youth who voted for change, trusted glossy manifestos & counted their future in “1 lakh jobs” in J&K are now getting a crash course in reality”.
“MBBS aspirants are stuck at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) because JKBOPEE claims that timelines & supernumerary seats are “not in its jurisdiction.” Judicial Services aspirants, meanwhile, are watching nearly 600 Kashmir qualifiers shrink to just 13 at the mains stage. The message is loud & clear. This is no longer about exams or counselling; it is about fairness, transparency, & the growing Jammu–Kashmir mistrust,” he said.
“While youth across the world debate AI & future economies, our youth are fighting for answer sheets, seat allocation & basic justice,” he continued.
The JKPC leader added, “If even the medical & judicial systems fail to inspire confidence, what exactly did the youth vote for?”.
