Amid West Asia conflict, India simplifies visa rules for stranded foreigners

New Delhi, Mar 01: In view of the evolving situation in the West Asia, Government of Indian (GOI) on Sunday issued an advisory for foreign nationals currently residing in the country, assuring them of necessary assistance with visa and stay-related matters.

The Ministry advised that foreign visitors whose travel plans have been disrupted due to the ongoing regional developments can seek help from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

“All foreign nationals in India, who have had to change their travel plans due to the ongoing developments in the West Asia region and need assistance with extension of their visa or to regularise their stay, are requested to contact the nearest FRRO,” the advisory stated.

It further stated that the concerned FRRO will facilitate the necessary formalities. Contact details are available on the official Bureau of Immigration website. (KNS)
