Delhi court rejects Er Rashid’s interim bail plea to meet ailing father

New Delhi, Apr 24: A Delhi court has rejected the interim bail application of incarcerated Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla, Er Rashid, who had sought temporary release to meet his “critically ill” father, a party leader said on Friday.

Sheikh Ashiq, a senior leader of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the court turned down the plea filed by Er Rashid earlier this week.

The MP had stated in his application that his father was on ventilator support and undergoing treatment in a critical condition, and requested release on humanitarian grounds.
