Dialogue between GoI, people of J&K imperative to bridge trust deficit: AltafBukhari

Speaking on the economic scenario, Bukhari stressed the need for structural reforms. “We want a financial structure to be established here that will ensure the complete elimination of poverty in Jammu and Kashmir. No one should remain poor. Every individual should be on the path of development and progress,” he said.

He added that economic restructuring was essential, noting that local resources had not been managed efficiently. “Due to negligence in managing these resources, Jammu and Kashmir has remained economically deficient. If these resources were mobilised and utilised properly, we would not have been in such a deficit,” he said.

Emphasising women’s empowerment, Bukhari said the party advocates equal opportunities across all sectors. “Women constitute half of the population. If they remain economically, socially, and educationally disadvantaged, our entire society will lag behind. When Apni Party speaks of empowering society, it includes the social, economic, educational, and political empowerment of women,” he said.

Reiterating his demand for the release of detainees, Bukhari said, “Hundreds of people are in jail, yet nobody is talking about it. These politicians are not even raising the issue. How long will these people remain behind bars?”

He also raised concerns over issues faced by the youth, alleging that many are being denied police verification required for passports and jobs. “They are being called to police stations repeatedly. All of this must change,” he said.

Calling once again for dialogue, Bukhari appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate engagement with the people, particularly the youth. “I appeal to the Hon’ble Home Minister to begin dialogue with the people to bridge the trust deficit and address their grievances,” he said.

Among others present on the occasion were Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Chairman PAC Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Spokesperson and State Secretary MuntazirMohiudin, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, State Youth President and Spokesperson YawarDilawar Mir, Women’s Wing President DilshadShaheen, State Secretary Organisation and Spokesperson Dr Harbaksh Singh, District President Budgam Advocate Owais Ashraf Shah, Senior Vice President Budgam and Constituency In-charge Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, along with Jibran Dar, ShaistaJee, and other party members.
