Jammu, Dec 10: Police in Doda averted a tragic incident through swift and timely action, by rescuing a woman who attempted to end her life by jumping into the river Chenab near Pul Doda on Wednesday.
“Acting promptly, a team from Police Post Pul Doda rescued her and prevented the loss of a precious life. Following the rescue, the legal heirs of the woman (name withheld), a resident of Kahara of tehsil Gandoh in Doda, were immediately informed. After completing all necessary legal formalities, the woman was safely handed over to her family,” Police said.
Police also reiterated unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and wellbeing of the public.
