Dr Farooq, CM Omar pay tributes to Sheikh Nazir Ahmad on his death anniversary

Srinagar, Feb 23: On the occasion of the eleventh death anniversary of former General Secretary and veteran leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, the National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have paid glowing tributes to him  with deep respect and gratitude for his lifelong contributions to the party and the people of J&K.

In a statement Dr Farooq said, “Sheikh Nazir Ahmad’s organisational acumen, unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the National Conference and his enduring commitment to democratic principles have left an indelible mark on the political landscape of the region.”

Dr Farooq recalled Sheikh Nazir Ahmad as a dedicated party worker and a selfless servant of the people. “His tireless efforts in strengthening the party at the grassroots and inspiring generations of workers remain a source of pride for the National Conference,” he said. CM Omar Abdullah also extended his tribute to Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, emphasising his profound impact on the party and his legacy of discipline and commitment. Omar notes that the void left by his passing continues to be felt across the party. He reaffirms the resolve of the National Conference to uphold and carry forward the ideals that Sheikh Nazir championed throughout his life  placing service above self and principle above position.  Joining the party rank and file , Office bearers Party GS Ali Muhammad Sagar, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, party MPs, Ministers, MLAs, party MPs, Ministers, MLAs.
